Hawaii Fire Department personnel on Monday located a hunter who had been reported as missing Sunday evening.
Monday marked the second day of searching for the missing hunter in the area of mile marker 14.5 on Saddle Road, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. Rescue personnel had searched for the missing person after getting the report Sunday evening but had to call of the operations due to darkness.
The search picked back up Monday morning with helicopter and land crews scouring the area, according to the department. The hunter was located about 12:30 p.m. by the helicopter and transported via billy pugh net to the command post and awaiting medics.
The hunter declined medical assistance and no injuries were reported.
